Garden Ideas For Spring

It really has been a wet and miserable start to the year but one thing that can keep us going is to plan what to do with the garden this Spring.
As usual at this time of year, people have begun to predict trends for 2014 and many gardening articles have already referred to the use of salvaged materials within garden design.
A reclamation yard such as Winchcombe Reclamation is a great place to look for a little inspiration and you will find numerous ideas for garden planters here.
A traditional choice would be a reclaimed stone trough. These are available in many shapes and sizes, all showing natural character and wear from years of use as animal troughs.
Alternatively, you may prefer a metal container such as these galvanised tubs. These make great planters and come with a screwcap drainage hole and carrying handles. We also stock large galvanised water troughs if you are looking for a bigger
container - these could also be used as part of a water feature. Less conventional planters such as wash tubs, sinks and chimney pots can also be found.
Of course, our stock here at Winchcombe Reclamation is ever-changing and as we approach Spring we have many unique garden items available. From Victorian cast iron planters to fountains and pool surrounds. You may find decorative iron work that can be used to trail plants over, or an original staddle stone or mill stone to create a focal point. And don't forget our extensive stock of reclaimed building materials that can be worked into the design. Maybe some edging for the herb garden, some reclaimed bricks or cobbles for a pathway or York flagstone for paved areas. The possibilities really are endless.
